This Sunday (12) takes place the first edition of Folia na Júlio, a Carnival event in Taquara that resumes carnival activities in the city. The event is organized by the Municipality of Taquara, Sesc-Taquara and Instituto Gaúcho Pró-Cidadania, and will be at Rua Júlio de Castilhos, close to the Marechal Deodoro Square, with a schedule that will be from 3 pm to 9 pm.
“Our Folia at Júlio would be last week, however, due to the heavy rain that fell on the 4th, we need to postpone the event to this Sunday. We will have a very diversified event, to attract the public of all ages. We have a great presence of the community”, highlights Mayor Sirlei Silveira.
Schedule
The party will start with a parade along Rua Júlio de Castilhos at 3 pm, departing in front of Banrisul, arriving at Praça Marechal Deodoro. Marchinhas and other Carnival songs will be performed, inviting the community to honor the event.
Then, at 4 pm, the show by the pagoda group Arrasta Pra Cima begins. Starting at 6 pm, there will be a joint presentation by the samba schools Mocidade Independente do Jardim do Prado and Acadêmicos do Sol Nascente. Then, at 7 pm, the show begins with the Pagode do Exata, until 9 pm, when the festivity will end.
Reinforcement in security and sale of snacks and drinks
Revelers will also have snacks and drinks for sale at Folia na Júlio, at stalls set up next to the party venue. The sale will be made by commercial establishments in Taquara, which last month participated in a Public Call. As for the security of the event, the Military Brigade will be present with a mobile station and an office, installed in the room where the Procon de Taquara is located. In addition, private security guards were also hired to work at the party.
The Health Secretariat participates by bringing a medical structure for assistance in case of need, including distribution points for condoms to revelers.
