Floripa Shopping, in Florianópolis, is hosting this weekend, March 10, 11 and 12, Floripa em Xeque, an event for chess lovers, with free entry. Divided into three days, the event concentrates lectures on the modality, competitions between the sport’s beasts, as well as a space for those who want to learn more about chess and learn techniques and skills.
With the theme “Psychology and goal setting: Do you know what to do and how to do it?”, guest Paulo Victor Panazzolo, psychologist and tournament player, will give a lecture focused on the importance of setting goals and how to achieve success with these goals set .
The event also has instructors who will be available to teach and guide those interested in learning a little more about the game of kings.

Today, Florianópolis can be seen as the chess capital of Brazil. The title comes because some of the greatest talents of the new generation of chess players live or train in the city. In addition, the largest chess event in Latin America takes place in the city, the Floripa Chess Open. There is also the emergence of new schools, clubs and projects that praise the sport.
Floripa Shopping, in partnership with the Gaspar Chess School and PENSE (Chess Teaching Program), offers visitors the opportunity to interact with some of the most qualified professionals and athletes in the city.
