The 20th Campamento da Canção Nativa, the biggest edition of the traditional music festival from Rio Grande do Sul, already knows who won the “O Imigrante” trophy, the most coveted of the event. Among the nearly 900 unpublished lyrics entered, “Sem sabernews tuas” was elected the best composition of the festival. With lyrics by Eduardo Muñoz and Fábio Maciel and music by Cícero Camargo, performed by Grupo Quarteada, the song also took the prize for best melody.
The final of the Camp, with 14 songs, was held this Saturday (04), at Parque do Trabalhador, within the schedule of the 43rd National Rodeo of Campo Bom. The second best composition was “Roseta”, lyrics by Sérgio Carvalho Pereira and music by Joca Martins and Ricardo Comassetto. Joca Martins also won the award for best performer at the festival.
In third place, “Walk wet”, lyrics by Gujo Teixeira and music by Roberto Borges. The composition also won the awards for best arrangement and best instrumentalist, saxophonist Robert Cruz. The best lyrics were “As reins do meu caval”, by Evair Gomez and Juliano Gomes, and “Peão do posto do meio”, by Rogério Villagran and Kiko Goulart, interpreted by the Quarteto Coração de Potro, the most popular song.
In addition to the trophies, the result of exclusive craft work for the Native Song Camp, the festival distributed more than R$ 80,000 in prizes. For Mayor Luciano Orsi, it is yet another proof of the commitment of Campo Bom City Hall to preserve and strengthen the gaucho culture.
The municipal secretary for Economic Development and Tourism, Henrique Scholz, points out that the people of Rio Grande do Sul are the biggest winners, as traditionalism is carried forward in each of the new compositions.
