Randon expands its production capacity with a focus on the Brazilian chassis market. The inauguration of the final assembly operations for this type of vehicle in Paulínia (SP), in the second half of last year, was the most recent move by the Assembler business vertical to serve the market, which surpassed 70,000 units in 2022, according to data from the National Association of Road Equipment Manufacturers (Anfir).
In addition, the industrial unit dedicated exclusively to the manufacture and assembly of Sobre Chassi product lines, inaugurated in the city of Messias (AL) in 2021, is part of the production capacity expansion cycle. Installed next to the Rodoap distributor, initially to serve the strategic market in the Northeast region, the factory will concentrate all the company’s production of On Chassis bodies from this year onwards.
According to the Managing Director of the Assembler Division of Randon Companies, Sandro Trentin, the opening of the assembly unit in Paulínia, with logistical optimization efforts to receive production from Alagoas, accelerates the supply to the Southeast, the main buying region in the country.
“The size of the On-Chassis body market in Brazil is similar to that of semi-trailers, and we see the great potential for resuming this business in the country. Operations in Paulínia and Messias are strategic for this movement. We are optimistic about the prospect of growth in this volume for 2023 and for the coming years”, he highlights.
The final assembly and coupling to the truck takes place both in Paulínia and in other points of the Randon Distributor Network throughout the country. Strategic partnerships, with companies specialized in operations of this nature, made operations feasible.
Currently, Randon’s portfolio serves approximately 70% of the national On-Chassis market. The main product is the General Cargo Van Body. In 2022, the manufacture of Refrigerated Bodies and Tipper Bodies began. The company also manufactures Beverage and Dry Cargo Bodies.
