In times of remote and hybrid work, having a good and fast internet is essential. The 2023 Best Choice Award points out which is the best fixed broadband internet provider in Brazil in each state, to help consumers make a more accurate decision when contracting and negotiating with companies. Vivo had the best results in the survey in speed performance, with an average of 101 Mega – speed higher than the national average, which is 79 Mega.
The study evaluated millions of speed tests of home internet operators present throughout Brazil, carried out from January to December 2022, on the Melhor Escolha plan comparison platform. “With this data, it is possible to understand the internet scenario in the country. Thus, the consumer is able to compare the services provided, while the providers are careful to offer a better quality internet”, says Glauciana Nunes, head of Consumer Connection at the company.
Paraná is the state with the fastest internet
Paraná is the state with the fastest fixed internet, with an average of 88 Mega, according to the 2023 Best Choice Award. Ligue is the operator with the best rated speed in the region, according to the ranking, with an average of 140 Mega speed.
Among the largest cities in Brazil, Curitiba, Belo Horizonte and Brasília stood out by registering internet speeds higher than the national average, with an average of 98, 95 and 95 Mega of speed, respectively.
The survey took into account official access data from Anatel (National Telecommunications Agency) on providers with a significant presence in Brazil and in each state. To be eligible for the Best Choice ranking, operators had to be present in the five regions of the country and have at least 1.5% market share and in the sample of the evaluated geographic region.
