On Saturday morning (04), the 2nd Pre-conference took place in preparation for the 8th Municipal Health Conference in Canoas. The event took place at Emef Thiago Würth, in the Mathias Velho neighborhood. The regional debate of the Northwest Quadrant had the participation of 150 locals, including residents, professionals and health managers.
The community present discussed and prepared proposals on four thematic axes: “The canoes we have. The canoes we want”; “The role of social control and social movements in saving lives”; “Guarantee rights and defend the SUS, life and democracy”; and, still, “Tomorrow will be another day for everyone”.
One of the objectives of the Pre-Conference is to bring the government closer to listen to the population in their specific demands, as explained by the municipal secretary of Health, Aristeu Ismailow. He emphasizes that the participation of society is fundamental for the construction of public policies for health. “From the four pre-regional conferences we will hold our Municipal Conference, which will elect the themes and delegates who will represent Canoas for the State and National Conferences”, he explained.
For the president of the Municipal Health Council, Mário Dhein, the debates are bringing good proposals, corresponding to the reality of Canoas. “Residents are bringing the demands of the neighborhoods according to the reality of each one, which is very positive. Everyone agrees in defending and proposing the strengthening of the SUS”, he highlighted.
It was to defend the expansion of public policies in the Mathias Velho neighborhood that resident and metallurgist Marisa Rodrigues participated in the pre-conference. “Here, I have a voice, here is the time to defend our health. Everyone should take advantage of and participate in this moment of collective construction, ”she emphasized.
From the Guajuviras neighborhood, teacher Rosinei Silveira also highlights the importance of the event for the city. “We, who are teachers, know and live in the neighborhoods and see many problems, especially children and young people, we need to look at and defend the health of the little ones”, she explained.
