Lawyer Paulo Faria, known for acting in the defense of deputy Daniel Silveira (PSL-RJ), filed this Thursday, 27, the National Council of the Public Ministry against the Public Ministry of the State of Ceará (MP-CE). On January 18, the MP-CE issued a technical note in defense of the mandatory vaccination of children aged 5 to 11 years.
According to the lawyer, the MP-CE is using state law 16,929, of July 10, 2019, to support that vaccination of children against the new coronavirus is mandatory. “There is no mandatory covid vaccine for a simple fact: the law is from 2019 and, in that year, the existence of the covid-19 virus was not known”, explained Faria, to Revista. West.
“Technical note 02/2022, from the Ministry of Health, makes it very clear that vaccination against covid is not mandatory for this age group, and needs parental consent”, argued Faria. Also according to the lawyer, there are threats and persecution against parents and mayors by the MP-CE, which constitutes abuse of power and authority, in addition to illegal constraints.
For Faria, the conduct of the MP-CE can cause fear in the population and is outside the law. “The MP-CE is guiding the tutelary councils to monitor cases in which parents refuse to vaccinate their children with the Pfizer vaccine”, he said. “The position of the MP is to terrorize the population in order to achieve its objective, which is completely outside the law”, observed the lawyer.
