Caxias do Sul holds this Saturday (4) – even with rain forecast – the 1st Carnival Festival Encontro de Bambas. Carnival starts at 3 pm, on Rua Plácido de Castro, in front of Maesa. Tents are being set up on site to protect the revelers who will jump carnival with the samba-plots of the Schools and Associations of Caxias.
The party starts with the sound of DJ Mono, which will recall the traditional carnival marches. Then, the city hall will deliver recognition certificates to people who were part of the history of the Carnival of Caxias do Sul.
According to the Secretary of Culture, Cristina Nora Calcagnotto, the festivity takes place even with the forecast of rain because part of the structure is covered, which allows the Festival to take place.
The Party will feature a samba-plot composed by Guy Ribeiro, in addition to the attractions that promise to give life to a respectful drumming in the off-season Carnival.
Among the attractions, which will have the participation of Samba Schools in the city, the Festival will have space for food, Handicrafts Fair, recreation for children with toys from the Department of Sport and Leisure, actions by the Department of Health with guidance on sexually transmitted infections, availability of condoms and informative material on rapid tests for hepatitis B, C, syphilis, HIV and HIV self-test, in addition to lots of music, joy and fun.
The Festival is organized by the Municipality of Caxias do Sul through the Secretariat of Culture – Art and Culture Unit with the support of the Municipal Secretariat for Sports and Leisure (SMEL), Municipal Secretariat for the Environment (SEMMA), Municipal Secretariat for Traffic, Transport and Mobility (SMTTM), Municipal Public Security and Social Protection Secretariat (SMSPPS), Social Protection Coordinations, Municipal Health Secretariat (SMS), CAPS Citizenship and SAMU, Municipal Urban Planning Secretariat (SMU), SAMAE and Festa da Uva. It also has the support of the Union of Neighborhood Associations (UAB), Association of Friends of MAESA (AMAESA), Military Brigade, TV Caxias, Orquídea, Cooperativa Nova Aliança, Star Sorvetes, Vagão do Monge ChoppTruck and Wave Brazilian Wine.
