The Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Rosa Weber requested information about the technical note from the Ministry of Health that rejected the guidelines of the National Commission for the Incorporation of Technologies in the Unified Health System (Conitec) for outpatient treatment of covid-19.
The Conitec report contraindicates the use of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine for the treatment of patients with covid-19, following the understanding of medical societies and the World Health Organization. The text was approved by the majority of the commission in December 2021.

The paper argues that the evidence does not show clinical benefit of chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine and points out that there is not enough evidence to recommend the use of ivermectin, budesonide, colchicine, systemic corticosteroid and nitazoxanide.
Rosa Weber who explained the Minister of Health, Marcelo Queiroga, and the Secretary of Science, Technology, Innovation and Strategic Inputs in Health, Hélio Angotti, responsible for the technical note.
The deadline for providing information is five days. The order was in a request for an injunction from the Sustainability Network in an action by the rapporteur of Minister Luís Roberto Barroso.
In the precautionary judgment in the action, in May 2020, the Plenary of the STF decided that the acts of public agents in relation to the covid-19 pandemic must observe technical and scientific criteria of medical and health entities.
In a request submitted to the Supreme Court on Monday, the 25th, the Network argues that the technical note does not have the proper scientific basis and, therefore, contradicts the theses established by the Court.
The initial version of the technical note advocated treatment with hydroxychloroquine and cast doubt on the effectiveness of vaccination for children.
The document was later amended, with the removal of a comparative table of the effectiveness of this drug treatment and vaccination.
The Network also asks for the removal of Hélio Angotti from the Secretariat of Science, Technology, Innovation and Strategic Inputs in Health and the opening of a disciplinary administrative process in the Ministry of Health against him.
The party still wants the opening of preliminary investigation procedures by the Federal Public Ministry to determine its possible criminal responsibilities and administrative improbity.
