According to a survey by the Brazilian Association of the Chocolate, Peanut and Candy Industry (Abicab), 440 items will be offered by companies associated with the Entity for the date in 2023, with 163 launches — the result of new partnerships, ingredients, formats, flavors and combinations of products.
The chocolate industry will present a robust portfolio to meet the most diverse tastes, and make the habit of giving gifts to friends and family even more memorable. The market will offer, in addition to Easter eggs, other chocolate products with different intensities, such as milk, different percentages of cocoa, white, mixed and, of course, bets on differentiated packaging for gifts.
And to respond to public demand and preferences, the sector and industry go through a long period of preparation, from about a year and a half before the date. In relation to 2022, this long work by the industries registered more than 10 thousand tons of eggs and Easter products, which demonstrates a 13% growth in production when compared to 2021. It was possible to serve the consumer by guaranteeing the quality of products, varieties and multichannel.
According to the president of Abicab, Ubiracy Fonsêca, industries are preparing in advance to ensure that consumers have access to products and maintain the traditions of the date. “Easter is a very special date for Brazilians and fundamental for the sector, and during this period there is great intention to purchase chocolate products. For this reason, companies are always innovating in expanding their portfolios. With the use of technology and quality raw material, the chocolate industry is increasingly consolidated, signaling its full potential”, he concludes.
