Entries are open for the 12th Laranjal Athletics Cup and the 3rd Para-Athletics Cup, which will take place on Saturday (4). Sponsored by the Executive, through the Board of Sports and Leisure of the Department of Education and Sports (Smed), the traditional event is the only competition of its kind in Rio Grande do Sul, held entirely in the sand by the beach. Entries can be made online (links at the end of the article) or on the day of the competitions.

How will the disputes in Laranjal
Disputes will take place individually or as a quartet in the relay, according to the categories and tests described below. The top three teams in each event will receive medals and the top three male and female teams will receive trophies.
Individual
* Pre-beginners: born in the year 2014 or later – 30 meter dash
* Beginners: born in the years 2012 to 2013 – 40 meter dash and long jump
* Junior: born in the years 2010 to 2011 – 40 meter dash, 200 meter dash and long jump
* Mirim: born in the years 2008 to 2009 – 40 meters dash, 600 meters dash, high jump and shot put
* Free: born between the years 1989 to 2007 (16 to 34 years old) – 40 meters dash, 600 meters dash, 2,000 meters steeplechase, high jump, shot put and medicine ball throw
* Master: born in 1988 or before – 40 meter dash, 2,000 meter hurdles and shot put
Mixed
* Mixed relay: 4 x 40 meters dash – each team must have two male athletes and two female athletes
* Para-athletics: 40 meters dash, 600 meters dash, shot put, javelin throw and club – there will be scores per team according to the placement of each athlete
