Cia Municipal de Dança de Porto Alegre is open for registration until next Friday (3), for the 2023 cast selection. Interested parties must complete the registration form.
The selection process is carried out by the OSC Instituto Sociocultural Afro-Sul/Odomode, a partner of the city hall, through the Municipal Secretary of Education (Smed) and the Municipal Secretary of Culture and Creative Economy (Smcec), in the development of the activities of the Preparatory Schools of Dance (EPDs), Cia Jovem and Cia Municipal de Dança de Porto Alegre.
The selection seeks to contemplate the technical quality of the performers, adequacy to the artistic-pedagogical profile of Cia Municipal de Dança and the diversity and plurality in the composition of its cast.
A Municipal Dance Company of Porto Alegre is a professional dance project created in 2014 by Smcec and Smed that provides classes, rehearsals, public presentations and educational work with Cia Jovens de Dança in schools of the municipal education network with a diverse profile of performers.

Two dancers and two titular dancers and two male dancers and two alternate dancers will be selected. The selection process will take place in two stages: curriculum and video analysis; and audition of practical evaluation.
Registrations: February 15 to March 3, 2023 via application form
- Disclosure to the e-mail of the participants of the registrations qualified for the second stage – practical evaluation hearing until March 8
- Practical evaluation audition, held by the Selection Committee, at Sala Cecy Frank (Casa de Cultura Mário Quintana): March 10
- Disclosure of those selected: until March 15 on the Dance Center website and blog
- Beginning of activities with the new cast: March 20, 2023
Registration Requirements
Be Brazilian or a foreigner resident and domiciled in Brazil;
Be over 18 years of age;
Possess CNPJ for cultural purposes;
Professional registration as a dancer or proof of submission of registration request with the competent body
Updated professional resume;
Presentation/choreography video link of at least 3 minutes;
Be available to work, from Monday to Friday, in the morning shift, to fulfill a workload of 25 hours a week and perform presentations by Cia Municipal de Dança de Porto Alegre
