The sunny Saturday was conducive to follow the games of the Football Tournament promoted by the Syndicate of Sapateiros de Parobé last weekend. Held at the Azaléia Employees’ Association Field, the event celebrated the entity’s 38th anniversary and had the participation of 10 teams made up of workers from the municipality’s footwear sector.
In partnership with the Social Service of Industry (SESI), activities for the whole family were also the attraction throughout the day, such as Story Time and giant chess.
“For us, this is an event that integrates workers in sports, valuing and promoting a healthy leisure activity. We received a very positive evaluation and we will certainly do more throughout the year”, explains the manager Sidnei de Quadros. Events that unite sport and the category are part of the Union’s history.
In the 1990s, the height of the industrial period in the city, the tournaments mobilized all the factories. “There were even companies that hired employees thinking about the tournament, it was an event that moved the community”, recalls the current president João Pires.
This year, there were prizes for the top four. The big winner was Team Maissa, followed by Mortocano in second, D.Esportivo in third and Torino in fourth.
The winning team also took two other prizes: less leaked goalkeeper with Jackson Diego Rosalino, and top scorer with Weslley Antônio Federici. The discipline trophy went to the Torino team.
For the president, mobilization and unity among workers is one of the main objectives of events like this. “We, as a representative union, understand that this unit created from the practice of sports also results in the necessary mobilization when it comes to conquering rights. August is just around the corner, we want to see this same unit during the collective bargaining”, comments Pires.
