The goal of every company is always to improve delivery to customers. Whether it’s a service or a product, the intention is to offer the best final result and improve it as time goes by. For the world’s largest brewery, however, this is more than a goal, it’s a challenge. With 70% of the global market and many successful brands guided precisely by quality, it is necessary to develop innovative formats for improvement.
To qualify and optimize this production, Mouts TI, a Brazilian software development company based in Blumenau, Santa Catarina, developed, in partnership with company technicians, a world-class Global Agricultural Research Program management system, including a fully integrated database to facilitate the development of superior malt and beer varieties.
The main objectives of the system are to reduce the development of new cultures by about two to three years to accelerate the production process of more qualified species – which would reduce the research and development time from 12 to 13 years to 10 to 11 years. The direct consequence is the reduction of tests – with more accurate approaches being applied – and the reduction of costs.
Before and after
The project has been underway since 2021, however, the Mouts TI team only took over development in May 2022 and implemented another pace of work. So much so that it is possible to compare the evolution of the project before and after Brazilian tech.
By April 2022, only 30% of the project’s targets had been delivered; only one of the nine modules was implemented and the conclusion was a dissatisfied customer. With the inclusion of Brazilian resources, in just five months (from May to October 2022) all goals were delivered by the team, four modules were implemented, data was migrated from the old system to the new one and the application received a new design to have the visual identity and colors compatible with the company.
“It is a project on a global scale, a challenge for the Mouts TI team, but we also know that we have the qualified workforce that this type of plan requires. The team dedicated to this work remains focused on development, as we know that it is something that will have a direct positive impact on the customer and also on his final consumer and bring the satisfaction he seeks with this development”, says Dionei Reichert, Director of Global Business from Mouts TI and responsible for the team working on the project.
The project still has points to be developed and the completion deadline for the complete implementation is 2025, however, the difference in the progress of the works is visible from the inclusion of Mouts TI in the process.
“It was already an ongoing project, so we had to find out about the actions and, more than that, deliver the solution that the customer was looking for, which was to resume, and even speed up the progress of the process. However, it is also an old partner of Mouts, which we know, we know how it works, which gave us peace of mind to work in search of this result”, concludes Reichert.
