A woman and two children were found dead in the apartment where they lived in Recreio dos Bandeirantes, in the West Zone of Rio. The bodies were found early on Friday. Two of the victims had gunshot marks. Military police officers from the 31st BPM (Recreio) arrested the suspect, based on complaints received indicating his whereabouts in the condominium. The name has not yet been released.
The Civil Police reported that witnesses were heard and security camera footage will be analysed. Temporary arrest of the suspect was also requested.
The victims are Andréa Cabral Pinheiro, 27 years old, her son Matheus Alexander Cabral Pinheiro da Silva, 11 months old, and stepdaughter Maria Eduarda Fernandes Affonso da Silva, 12 years old.

According to the Military Police, a man said he tried to contact his sister Andreia throughout Thursday, without success. He then went to the 42nd DP (Recreio), where, after communicating the fact, he was instructed to activate a locksmith to enter the apartment where she lived.
After entering the premises, Andrea and Maria were found with gunshot marks. The two were in the same bed. Baby Matheus was already dead in his crib, with no signs that he had been shot.
The crime is investigated by the Capital Homicide Police Station (DHC). Activated, the police heard witnesses at the scene and security camera footage was taken to be analyzed. The police are trying to locate Alexander da Silva, Andrea’s husband and father of the two children, named as the main suspect.

Bandeirantes, in the West Zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro.
The suspected individual was located and arrested by military police from the 31st BPM based on complaints received indicating his whereabouts in the condominium. On Thursday night (02/16), a police team from the 31st BPM (Recreio dos Bandeirantes) was called to verify the occurrence, and the applicant reported that he was unable to establish contact with a family member.
The police team accompanied the applicant to the address in the Recreio dos Bandeirantes neighborhood, in the West Zone of the city of Rio de Janeiro.
At the scene, three people were found dead, two victims under 18 years of age. Occurrence forwarded to the Homicide Police Station of the Capital.”
