Military members of the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) chose to sign a term in which they assume responsibility for not being vaccinated against Covid-19. According to the newspaper O Globo, the document was signed by 1,880 members of the FAB.
Despite not being immunized, the military who signed the term were released to return to face-to-face work. In the document, the military must declare that he refuses to take the vaccine against Covid-19, “even though he was referred for vaccination by my Military Organization and oriented on the importance of vaccination for the immunization and protection of my health, being still aware that the lack of immunization, in this case, will not result in the non-exercise of my usual professional activities”.

According to the survey carried out by the newspaper O Globo, of the 66,442 active duty military personnel, 35,723 took the two doses of the vaccine in 2020, 25,618 were with the first dose and 775 received the single dose. The booster dose was administered to 544 FAB soldiers.
