Female entrepreneurship is gaining more and more strength in the market and, in the literature, it is no different. The Portuguese Ana Cristina Rosa narrates her experiences as an entrepreneur without borders after having made the transition from journalism to entrepreneurship portrayed in the book “Empreender sem Desculpas”, published in Brazil by Editora DvS.
With a launch scheduled in Brazil for February 2023, the book addresses, with a humorous and personal tone, the backstage of defeats that precede success, also bringing technical knowledge about ten profiles of entrepreneurs present in the market so that people can mirror or not.
The book will be released in Porto Alegre (RS) at Livraria Cultura in Bourbon Shopping Country on 09/02 with the presence of the author. In São Paulo (SP), the launch is scheduled for 02/16, at the Livraria Cultura do Conjunto Nacional and will feature a networking event coordinated by Ana Cristina Rosa.
The focus of the book is to present inspirational questions and lessons learned through their own experience, so that future entrepreneurs can start in the business in an increasingly effective way, avoiding pitfalls that are already known by those who are more experienced.
Brazil is the seventh country with the most entrepreneurs in the world, according to the latest GEM survey (Global Entrepreneurship Monitor) released in 2021. 14 million new entrepreneurs were registered in the country in the year in question, against nine million in 2020. In all, there are 43 million people who take care of their own business.
“In 2011, I created my company to help people in their career transition and started working in Portugal. In 2017, I migrated to digital and structured my first online program, when I realized that the boundaries for sharing knowledge and debating ideas no longer existed”, comments Ana Cristina Rosa, mentor to entrepreneurs and creator – together with James McSill – of Storytelling4Business, the first storytelling project in Portugal for business.
crossing borders
In this universe, the author seeks to broaden the vision of the Brazilian entrepreneur to see a business that crosses borders, bringing Portugal as a gateway to Europe, one of the fastest growing countries in the region. In addition, Rosa is enthusiastic about digital entrepreneurship and was a pioneer in the dissemination of Metaverso in Portugal. Rosa sees digital entrepreneurship as a way to go beyond the country itself.
“Digital has opened up endless possibilities for us to create businesses anywhere in the world. Today, we live in a world without geographical limits, there is no longer room to think small. When we create a business, we have to think globally, and nothing better than being inspired by the example of those who have already done it”, comments the entrepreneur.
Brazil is way ahead of entrepreneurship. In October 2022, according to a survey carried out by Sebrae, microentrepreneurs (MEIs) alone would generate around R$140 billion by the end of 2022. This results in an injection of R$11 billion made every month by these workers, demonstrating the importance of entrepreneurship in the country.
“I believe that the outside view brought in the book is important because I’ve lived in several countries, I’ve been getting to know the market and I see that great professionals from Brazil could take advantage of the European market. You can do it in Brazil and also in Europe. I’ve always been saying that before I had any results, I already had the vision of being an entrepreneur without borders”, concludes Rosa.
