The Porto Alegre Symphony Orchestra Foundation is looking for new voices to join the OSPA Symphony Choir, one of the main choral groups in the state. Registration, for singers of all styles, begins on February 8th and runs until 6 pm on February 25th.
In 2023, the choir will participate in the OSPA artistic season performing great works, such as “Gloria”, by John Rutter, and “Te Deum”, by Anton Bruckner. He will also sing in the opera that OSPA has yet to announce for this year and perform popular concerts.
The OSPA Symphonic Choir is adult and amateur in nature, without remuneration. Candidates must be at least 18 years old, have experience in choral singing, theoretical and musical knowledge and have time available for rehearsals and presentations. Starting March 7, the rehearsals will take place from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm at Casa da OSPA, located at the Centro Administrativo Fernando Ferrari (CAFF), in Porto Alegre. High voices rehearse on Wednesdays and Fridays and low voices on Tuesdays and Fridays.
To apply, you must complete the ONLINE FORM, also available on the Symphony Choir section of the OSPA website. In addition to filling in the data, it is necessary to attach a video singing the work “Ave Verum”, by Mozart.
the score is available here. In the video, the candidate must speak his name, suit and then sing his melodic line from the indicated work. Your part may be sung with or without instrumental accompaniment.
Candidates approved in this first stage will receive an email with the schedule of the face-to-face test. In this phase, the following will be analyzed: tuning, rhythm, vocal quality, vocal range, musical perception, simple solfeggio and basic knowledge of musical theory.
