The Newton Macedo Municipal Choir, from Taquara, opened registration for new singers. Until February 20, men and women aged 16 and over can participate in the selection process, through from this link.
“It is an enormous satisfaction that our city has a respected Municipal Choir, which has already performed at events in the Municipality and also in neighboring cities. We hope that this group will have more charming voices”, highlights Mayor Sirlei Silveira.
As prerequisites for registration, candidates must be available to perform rehearsals on Mondays, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and, sporadically, on Thursdays, at the same time, in addition to being available for choir performances. Auditions for new singers will be held from February 22nd to 24th, with scheduling at the time of registration.
Currently, the Newton Macedo Municipal Choir has about 20 singers. The ensemble is conducted by maestro Alex Barbosa, who emphasizes the importance of this group for the city of Taquara. “The choir is an important element of cultural and artistic manifestation of the Municipality. Through it, it promotes the participation of citizens in choral activity, representing Taquara in various actions.”
