Liquida Santa Maria 2023, promoted by the Chamber of Shopkeepers (CDL) with support from the City Hall, officially started on Friday (3). On Saturday morning (4), in front of the institution’s headquarters, a ceremony was held with the presence of CDL members and shopkeepers.
Due to this year’s theme, “A Carnival of Offers”, the CDL promoted a parade packed by the drums of the Vila Brasil samba school along one of the main commercial streets of Santa Maria, Rua do Acampamento.
During the parade, a sound car pulled the block formed by dancers and instrumentalists from Vila Brasil, along with members of the CDL and the City Hall. The population that was on the street and the shopkeepers got into the mood and sang and applauded the passage of the attraction.
Liquida Santa Maria continues with promotions and discounts at participating stores until February 12th. Membership in 2023 is a record, with 512 accredited establishments.
Pozzobom highlighted the partnership between the government and commercial institutions in the Municipality and celebrated the period that will move the economy.
Marli Rigo, former president and current financial director of the CDL, highlighted the joining forces of several institutions for commerce, retail, the city and consumers.
“It is the 23rd edition of Liquida Santa Maria and it is great to be able to count on the City Hall in this launch. It is traditionally a time when entrepreneurs aim to benefit the consumer. We are very pleased as it is the biggest membership ever. We are covering the cost of publicity material, we are also linking commerce with culture, bringing Carnival. Today is a day to celebrate the beginning of a journey that has everything to be very fruitful for the population and for traders”, he said.

Any retailer associated or not with the CDL can join the campaign. Membership is free and can be done by WhatsApp phone (55) 99623-2077. Participating companies will win a kit of digital parts for use on social networks. The entity’s only request is that each store owner offer some kind of promotion or discount.
