Canoas takes this Tuesday (7), from 9 am, the Castramóvel to the front of the Piquete da Cultura, in Eduardo Gomes Municipal Park. The vehicle of the Special Secretariat for Animal Welfare (Sebea) will perform castrations on the animals of the families of Loteamento Prata, located in the Fátima neighborhood, which are already registered and scheduled for the veterinary procedure.
There will also be consultations for animals that arrive at the site from 10 am to 11:30 am, without the need for an appointment. Access is via Rua Irineu Carvalho Braga.
Castrations take place from 9 am to 5 pm, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; and from 9 am to 1 pm on Friday. According to Sebea’s deputy secretary, Fabiane Borba, owners can look for the castramobile to schedule the procedure on their animals. “Those who are interested can go to our vehicle and request an appointment, with the single registration card and proof of address. It is not necessary to take the pet, only on the day scheduled for the surgery, ”she explained.

The vehicle has the capacity to perform 1,500 procedures per year and has antisepsis/gowning, surgical, post-surgical and recovery rooms. The space also has air conditioning services, fire fighting and security system, digital scale, stretchers, among other equipment. In addition to sterilizations, Castramóvel also offers veterinary care.
The total investment for the acquisition of Castramóvel was R$ 137,600.00. The Municipality received a parliamentary amendment in the amount of R$ 168,497.00, obtained through the intermediation of the Project Office (Epro) of Canoas. The remaining amount, after purchasing the vehicle, was returned to the National Treasury coffers.
