The Bota-Fora project, promoted by the Municipal Urban Cleaning Department (DMLU) of Porto Alegre, performs the service in 11 communities from Tuesday (7th) to Friday (10th). The action takes place from 8 am.
The initiative aims to help the population to dispose of waste that is not collected by regular collections. Appliances, broken furniture, mattresses, among other bulky objects can be arranged.
The recommendation to the residents of the places served is that the materials be made available in front of the residences the night before, or until 7:30 am on the day of Bota-Fora. The service is publicized through posters placed in health units, markets, schools, bars and neighborhood associations.
In addition to Bota-Fora, the disposal of these materials can be done directly at one of the DMLU’s Destiny Units (UDC). Also called Ecopoints, the UDCs receive wood, old furniture and debris and are strategically distributed throughout the city. The DMLU is part of the Municipal Department of Urban Services (SMSUrb).
Programming by communities*:
Tuesday (7): Santa Anita Park (Nonoai), Arapeí (Cristal), Mato Grosso (Cristal), Pedreira Sul (Cristal);
Wednesday (8): São Carlos (Lomba do Pinheiro);
Thursday (9): Planetarium (Santana), Clara Nunes (Lageado), Vila Nova Brasília (Sarandi), Minuano (Sarandi), Vila União (Sarandi);
Friday (10): Santa Clara (Parthenon).
*The DMLU clarifies that the Bota-Fora program is carried out in the communities. Neighborhoods are enclosed in parentheses to make them easier to find.
