The City Hall of Nova Petrópolis has applications open until February 27th for the Czech Culture and Language Course. The training is offered through a partnership between the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport, the Association of Bohemian Immigrants and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. Those interested should go to the Municipal Public Library Professora Elsa Hofstätter da Silva to register.
According to the director of the City’s Department of Culture, Cândida Maldaner, after registration, on February 27, at 7 pm, there will be a meeting with those registered to define the dates and times of classes, which will be taught in the Language Room from the library by Professor Matous Hartan. Classes will be held between March and June 2023.
The course will have no cost to the students, as the materials will be offered by the Czech government and the location of the classes by the New Petropolitan Public Power. Seats will be unlimited and residents of the city and municipalities in the region can apply.
The partnership for offering the Czech language and culture course is due to Nova Petrópolis being a sister city of Jablonec nad Nisou, in the Czech Republic, which was made official by Law nº 4.829/2019.
More information about the training can be requested by calling (54) 3281-8445, directly at the Municipal Public Library.
