In the tournament, held in the largest seafood market in the world, Toyosu Market (Tokyo) between the 19th and 21st of January, the Brazilian received the World Cup Revelation certificate.
For the director of Frumar, Éder Krumenauer, it was a satisfaction and pride to sponsor the Brazilian qualified for the main sushi tournament in the world, since to dispute the Cup it is necessary to be invited by the promoters of the event, the General Association of Sushi of Japan, and an international proficiency rating issued by the World Sushi Skills Association.

Cléber Araraki has 22 years of experience in the culinary sector and continues to study to further improve techniques, specifically in oriental cuisine. In 2016, the professional won 3rd place in the Copa Brasil for Best Sushiman and is currently the chef and owner of Pappa Gohan, in São Paulo/SP.
The event
The Sushi World Cup (World Sushi Cup) has been held for 10 years by the National Sushi Association of Japan, and aims to spread the technique of Japanese cuisine in the world. With a jury made up of sushi experts, the tournament is preceded by a four-day training period at Nagoya Sushi School in Tokyo.
After the training, the qualified ones start work developing classic edo-style sushi and creative sushi. “The dispute was very fierce, with the best competitors in the world in the art of sushi. I was proud of the position and, above all, of being recognized as the revelation of the tournament”, evaluates Cléber.
The 10th edition of the Sushi World Cup was won by Richard Tomás, from the Czech Republic. In second and third place were the French representatives Pankar Michaël and Marie Seguin, respectively.
