The Municipal Urban Cleaning Department (DMLU) of Porto Alegre announced the locations that will be served by the Bota-Fora project between Tuesday (31st) and Friday (3rd). The action takes place from 8 am.
The objective of the project is to help the population to dispose of waste that is not collected by regular collections. Appliances, broken furniture, mattresses, among other bulky objects can be arranged.
The recommendation to residents of the areas served is that the materials be available in front of the residences the night before, or until 7:30 am on the day of Bota-Fora. The service is publicized through posters placed in health units, markets, schools, bars and neighborhood associations.
In addition to Bota-Fora, the disposal of these materials can be done directly at one of the DMLU’s Destiny Units (UDC). The UDCs, also called Ecopoints, receive wood, old furniture and debris and are strategically distributed throughout the city. The DMLU is part of the Municipal Department of Urban Services (SMSUrb).
