On the morning of this Friday (27), Estância Velha held the Oath to the Flag ceremony. 150 young people from Estancia born in the year 2044 presented themselves for Military Service, and of these, 81 were dismissed and pledged their commitment to the Fatherland.
This was the second stage of the oath, the first took place in September 2022, with the presentation of 150 young people of military age (67 young people discharged). The Oath to the Flag ceremony is the most solemn and significant act for the young military, permanently marking a commitment to the Nation.
This Friday’s ceremony, which took place at Espaço Cultural, was attended by Major Estral, president of the Army Selection Commission in 2023, Ramiro Sebastiany, secretary of the Estância Velha Military Board, and secretaries Daniela Baum, from Management and Governance, in the act representing Mayor Diego Francisco, and José Dresch Secretary of Security, Sport and Well-Being.
