The Chamber of Industry, Commerce and Services of Caxias do Sul (CIC Caxias) gathered on the morning of this Thursday (26th) the partners of the 15th edition of the Summer Rota do Sol Operation to publicize a first balance of the action started on December 17th with a period until March 6th, 2023, in the district of Lageado Grande, in San Francisco de Paula.
CIC Caxias executive director Gelson Dalberto hosted the meeting led by Lieutenant Colonel Julimar Fortes Pinheiro, Commander of the 5th Military Fire Brigade of Caxias do Sul, and with the objective of aligning the work.
In the presentation, statistical numbers of incidents attended between December 17 of last year and March 22, 2023, served to evaluate and guide the next steps of the operation that continues to bet on awareness actions, since they have proven to be efficient in the objective of preservation of lives.
“During this first period of work, on the stretch of action, 26 victims were assisted with a death record. Compared to previous years, in the balance of loss of life, the balance becomes positive, and an incentive for us to continue joining forces and work so that no more are lost”, highlighted Fortes.
The survey also showed a total of 15 occurrences in the period, 10 of which were traffic accidents, four pre-hospital care and one preventive action, mostly involving passenger cars, followed by motorcycles, vans and trucks. Distractions, such as talking on the cell phone, and speeding remain among the causes of accidents, in addition to improper overtaking.
Gelson Dalberto, CIC Caxias executive, emphasized the importance of the initiative that has been carried out for 15 years with the support of CIC Caxias, praising the dedication of those involved. “We can only thank you for the commitment and integration of this team made by anonymous heroes in favor of life. And that people, the community, can keep in mind that prudence in traffic saves lives”, highlighted Dalberto reproducing the theme of the Pit Stop Rota do Sol, action of the entity that started Operation Verão Rota do Sol, in December .
In addition to CIC and 5th BBM, representatives from Samu, Municipal Guard, Emercor, Civil Police, General and Pompéia Hospitals, Consepro/Mocovi and Amob/Lageado Grande participated in the meeting.
From the referrals, the group announced the next meeting with a press conference, on March 23, where the final report of the 15th Operation Verão Rota do Sol should be presented at CIC Caxias.
