A man was diagnosed with Covid-19, dengue and flu in Aparecida de Goiânia. The triple infection was discovered last Tuesday (4/01), after José Pereira de Araújo, 54, began to show symptoms and went to the doctor. He has already received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.
Despite the diagnosis, José is at home with only mild symptoms. To Mais Goiás, his son, Danilo Nunes de Araújo, said that it was not necessary to hospitalize his father. “My father is doing well, he is not hospitalized. He went to the doctor and received medicine to treat the flu and drinking a lot of fluids because of dengue”.

“Initially [meu pai] I felt my heart racing, heart rate, tiredness, fatigue, body ache, high fever, indisposition, chills”, said Danilo. “The family was very surprised, while people are amazed at the double infection to know that my father has triple infection is scary and impressive,” he said.
He also pointed out that the symptoms began to gradually decrease. Even with José’s stable situation, the family is apprehensive, because everyone gathered at the end of the year festivities. His wife, Sandra Maria Nunes da Silva, 52, was diagnosed with Covid-19 and suffers from comorbidities.
“My mother has diabetes, only has one kidney and has serious kidney problems. The MRI detected that the lung is compromised by 10%. She feels tired and cannot take some medicine due to her kidney problem, but she is not hospitalized. We are concerned if anyone else in the family has become infected, as the whole family gathered for Christmas and New Years,” he said.
