The City Hall of São Leopoldo will change the direction of four streets in the Rio Branco and São José districts. Rua São José and Rua Dr. João Dutra will have a one-way street between Pedro Américo and Doutor Mário Sperb avenues.
Rua Aurélio Porto and Rua Hélio Minghelli will be one-way in the opposite direction, between Avenida Mário Sperb and Pedro Américo. The change in the flow of the streets will be from the day January 30. Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) agents will be on site to guide the flow in the first days of the change.
The initiative was a request from residents of the region to avoid the serious accidents that occur in the area. The proposal presented by the municipal secretariats of the Participatory Budget (Semop) and of Mobility and Urban Services (Semurb), was approved by the community in a public hearing.
The Municipal Department of Works and Transport (Semov) installed three speed bumps on Avenida Feitoria. One precedes the intersection with Rua Dr. Joao Dutra. The others are before and after the intersection with Rua Hélio Emílio Minghelli. The equipment is part of the planned improvements at the site as a way to avoid accidents and improve traffic safety.
