A Queijaria Valbrenta, from Bento Gonçalves, won the Artesanal Cheese Seal, standing out as one of the few in the country to have the distinction. The concession was handed over at the headquarters of the Federation of Associations of Municipalities of Rio Grande do Sul (FAMURS), at a concomitant event in Rio Grande do Sul and Minas Gerais, bringing together dairy products, cheese factories and authorities from the agro-productive sector.
The coordinator of the Municipal Inspection Service (SIM), from the Department of Agriculture, Cristiano Selbach, and Geologist Luiz Pinto, were representing the Secretary of Agriculture, Volnei Christófoli, at the event.
“Valbrenta is an exponent in terms of quality and equivalence seals. It is a joy for Bento to participate in this project and to have a cheese factory certified with Selo Arte and Selo Queijo Artesanal. It is always good for Bento City Hall to provide companies that are included in the Municipal Inspection System (SIM) with national recognition”.
The Handmade Cheese Seal was regulated in June 2022 by Decree No. 11,099 of the federal government, which regulated art. 10-A of Law No. 1,283, of 1950, which established the Art Seal, and Law No. 13,860, of 2019, which deals with the elaboration and commercialization of artisanal cheeses.
MAPA Ordinance No. 531, of December 16, 2022 established the requirements for granting the ARTE and Artesanal Cheese seals by federal, state, municipal and district agriculture and livestock agencies; defined the standards for numbering the logos of artisanal identification seals and instituted the Audit Manual for the process of granting artisanal identification seals.
