The Secretary of Education, Sport and Leisure of Canela implemented in 2019 the full shift in eight municipal schools, including Barão do Rio Branco (Saiqui), Bertholdo Oppitz (São Lucas), Canon João Marchesi (Ulisses de Abreu), Dante Bertoluci (São Luiz), Ernesto Dornelles (Vila Boeira), João Alfredo Corrêa Pinto (Sesi), Santa Terezinha and Severino Travi (São Rafael).
In 2023, there will be 1800 students from the 1st to the 5th years who stay all day in the institutions, where in one period they have the curriculum of the national education base and in the other with complementary activities to reinforce the disciplines, practice sports and participate in cultural actions.
The mayor of Canela Constantino Orsolin, who is also a teacher, says that investing in full-time educational policy in the municipal public network means taking a bolder step towards quality education.

Structure
School learning is further stimulated from the expansion of structures and equipment such as new classrooms, modular kitchens and bathrooms, set of dining rooms (tables and benches), buffets, playgrounds, computers, air conditioning, science laboratories, coverage of court and various equipment that total an investment of R$ 12 million reais in 2022.
In the expansion of the Cônego João Marchesi, Severino, João Alfredo, Barão do Rio Branco and Bertholdo Opptiz schools, with classrooms, kitchens and modular canteens, resources reached R$ 4.5 million.
The new school in the Santa Marta neighborhood, which should be ready for the beginning of this school year, will be located at Rua Primeiro de Janeiro, 909/1. The first stage of the work encompasses the space of four rooms with a modular building, which will serve classes in the initial grades of elementary school (1st to 4th year) of the full shift.
Another benefited community was the Cônego João Marchesi School, which in December 2022 received the new covered sports court with an investment of approximately 500 thousand reais. Another improvement is the expansion of the Santa Marta gymnasium, which was around 680 thousand.
Nature Science
Thinking about the didactic development of students and offering quality and innovative materials to educators, 14 Nature Science Laboratories kits were purchased for all elementary schools in the municipal network. The laboratories will be used by students from the 1st to the 9th year, providing an increase in the level of learning of the theoretical contents worked in class.
The total investment in the acquisition of materials was R$ 1,169,378.28, including training for teachers, pedagogues and school managers.
robotics
Students in the 9th grade of elementary school also received qualification courses, through Senai Robotics, preparation for the world of work, introduction to entrepreneurship, innovation and management, industrial mechanics, these activities carried out at Cidica. In partnership with UCS Hortênsias, a gastronomy and nutrition course was also held.
For teachers, there was continued training with a course for managers of municipal schools, basic notions of first aid for teachers and employees, in compliance with the Lucas Law and training in fire prevention and fighting.
The 2023 school year in Canela starts on February 6th for kindergarten and February 15th for elementary school.
