The IX Gramado in Concert, which takes place from February 3 to 11, will bring together 350 music students from nine countries: Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Japan, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay. Directed by Leandro Libardi Serafim and Allan John Lino, the event is organized by Gramadotur, the municipal authority responsible for major public events in Gramado.
The international festival opens its calendar of events in 2023. Totally free to the public, the festival will take quality music to different places in Gramado.
MUSIC ALL OVER THE CITY
In addition to classes at the Senador Salgado Filho Musical School, the event will feature 10 concerts at Expogramado, nine itinerant concerts at hotels and social institutions, six concerts and recitals at Igreja do Relógio and three recitals at Vila do Vinho in Praça das Etnias, as part of the program of the 2nd Harvest in Gramado.
Vita Boulevard will host nine concerts and recitals, in addition to the closing party with the Festival’s Big Band. Another attraction of the program is the Knowing the Festival project, which will have 10 cast formations at the Senador School.
Tourists and locals can visit the backstage of the event and learn curiosities about the symphonic instruments, the sections, the repertoires and the role of the conductor.
PEDAGOGICAL AND TOURIST
With 798 subscribers, the IX Gramado in Concert increased the number of vacancies from 260 to 350 students. “We created the listener category, which selected 39 more students, and expanded the number of vacancies in the category without accommodation due to the great interest of the students. With the listener category, we try to contemplate students from the region in order to encourage them to study music and be able to seek improvement”, highlights Serafim.
The director points out that the festival has three fundamental pillars: cultural, educational and touristic. “With a high-level artistic program and free access to the public, the festival offers an excellent attraction for tourists interested in cultural itineraries. It is also pedagogical by proposing workshops on instruments and orchestra practices for Brazilian and foreign music students, conducted by professors from the national and international scene”, he says.
Director Allan John Lino points out that the main objective is to act in the professionalization of young Brazilian and foreign musicians, in addition to democratizing, enchanting and popularizing classical music. “During the festival, the air of joviality will spread through the streets, squares, concert halls, churches. Anyway, everywhere.
In addition to established artists, several students will be sharing their music with tourists and locals. We are this. We are good music in its most beautiful form. We are Gramado In Concert. Music is the essence of life!” concludes Lino.
