The year 2022 was a mixed bag of sensations for the market in general and civil construction was no different. The pandemic showed signs that it was coming to an end, but, on the other hand, the macroeconomic scenario put pressure on the interest rate, which rose significantly compared to 2021. Despite this whole context, Together we are more, a joint venture between Tigre, Gerdau and Votorantim Cimentos, creator of the largest civil construction ecosystem in the country, has good prospects for 2023.
When analyzing the economic side of the civil construction segment, we can see that 2022 left some obstacles along the way. “The beginning of the year was marked by inflationary pressure on the economy. We left an interest rate of 2% at the beginning of 2021, moving to 9.25% in the same period last year and reaching and currently (2023) 13.75%. Not to mention the government housing programs that performed worse when compared to the previous year”, analyzes Juliana Carsoni, CEO of Juntos Somos Mais.
2023 should offer more opportunities for growth. “As of 2020, people have turned their attention to the home and this has had a positive impact on civil construction. We expect this positive effect to continue this year with an above-average resumption of the government’s housing programs and possible economic policies that encourage the civil construction segment”, evaluates Juliana
Civil construction confidence and sales have also experienced impacts since 2021. “Given the possibility of sensitive moments, confidence in the general construction market closed at 96.7 points, which is a good result. Not to mention that sales in 2022 were better than in 2019, for example”, explains Ivan Ormenesse, Head of Data Analytics & Intelligence at Juntos Somos Mais.
In 2023, the focus of Juntos Somos Mais will be the marketplace. “Our attention will be focused on the growth of the Virtual Store, which in 2022 transacted more than R$9 billion. We are already the largest civil construction marketplace, but there is still a lot of room for growth with more partners and in offering services that improve the daily lives of retailers and industry sales. We are just at the beginning of this journey”, concludes the CEO of the startup.

The Juntos Somos + program was created in 2014 by Votorantim Cimentos as a relationship program. From the beginning, the proposal was to develop retailers and professionals, thus contributing to the sustainability of the chain through the generation of new business.
With the partners Gerdau and Tigre, the Juntos Somos + program became an independent company, called Juntos Somos Mais, an ecosystem whose purpose is to strengthen the civil construction retail sector, developing and qualifying retailers and construction professionals.
Currently, there are more than 40 leading companies in their participating segments, along with more than 95,000 stores and more than 1.2 million members, including shopkeepers, salespeople and construction professionals. In 2020, the company announced the acquisition of the startup Triider, a general services marketplace, and in 2021 it invested in Conecta Reforma, which connects customers with service providers to carry out major renovations.
It recently acquired the operation of habitissimo, a general services platform, making it the largest platform in the area of construction, renovations and minor maintenance in the country. Learn more through the official website.
