Shopping Pelotas will host one of the biggest concert music events in Latin America with a free attraction open to the community on the 19th: the 11th Sesc International Music Festival.
Since 2018, the development has been part of the musical circuit that runs through the main sights and spaces considered as references in the city of Pelotas, including Theatro Guarany, the Bibliotheca Pública Pelotense, the Largo do Mercado Municipal, among others. At the mall, the public will be able to honor the talent and art of Banda União Democrata – Community Festival, starting at 5 pm, in the Food Court.
The presentation at the mall will not only feature music, but also a tradition that blends with the city’s history. The Sociedade Musical União Democrata emerged 126 years ago and, since then, has become a reference in artistic training in Pelotas. One of the group’s principles has always been to democratize music, taking presentations to different places and events in the municipality.
During the concert at Shopping Pelotas, the public will be able to check out the talent of teachers and students with an instrumental orchestra composed of violinists, trombonists, trumpeters, among other musicians.
The program for the 11th Sesc International Music Festival will continue to tour parts of the city from the 16th to the 27th of January and will gather around 350 students and 50 professors from Brazil, the United States, Chile, China, Italy, Portugal, Russia, Belarus, Japan and Argentina.
“We are honored to host a festival that takes the potential of Pelotas to the world, but mainly to know that the concert at the mall features such a traditional group. There are 126 years of a history that is part of Pelotas culture and that will be freely accessible for people of all ages to gather, honor and applaud these talents”, highlights the Marketing Coordinator of Shopping Pelotas, Michelle Flores.
