Public schools in Caxias do Sul have the enrollment confirmation period open until January 13th for children and students who have been designated for the Early Childhood Education in the 4 and 5 year olds in Elementary Schools, 1st year of Elementary School, 1st year of High School, 1st year of Normal Course and use of Teaching studies and 1st year of Subsequent Professional Education – Technical Courses. Enrollment must take place at the same school to which each applicant was assigned.
In shared-management Early Childhood Education schools, the registration confirmation period runs from February 6th to 10th.
Also from the 2nd to the 13th of January, the initial registration phase is in effect. – which precedes enrollment – for those applying for a place in the 2nd to 9th grades of Elementary School, in the 2nd and 3rd grades of High School and for those who missed the registration deadline for the 1st grades of Elementary and Middle School.
The recommendation, in order to avoid unnecessary queues and other inconveniences, such as requesting time off from work or long journeys, is to carry out the entire process through the website www.educacao.rs.gov.br.
Other options are to do it at any public school or at the Registration Center itself (Rua Ernesto Alves, 1535 – Centro), from Monday to Friday, from 10 am to 4 pm. However, it is worth noting that, in the latter case, there is limited distribution of passwords.
First secure the spot. Then try to change schools.
Those who have already obtained the designation for the desired level of education must ensure enrollment. Even if, at first, I didn’t get a place in the preferred school. The explanation is simple: first the vacancy is guaranteed, then the transfer is sought. The second step cannot take place without confirmation of the first.
At the moment, the Enrollment Center counts 2352 children assigned to vacancies in Early Childhood Education in the 4 and 5 year age range and 2474 students assigned to the 1st year of Elementary School among state and municipal public schools, 3129 for the 1st year of High School, 148 for Vocational Education and 125 for EJA.
The number of children temporarily without designation in Early Childhood Education is 286, while the number of students in the same situation in the 1st year of Elementary School is 47.
The waiting list flow is managed internally, considering, for example, cases of change of address. If a vacancy becomes available, the person on the waiting list will be contacted by telephone. No new enrollment is made.
The operation is carried out at the Registration Center, from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. There is no change in the form of assistance due to the waiting list. The work takes place internally. To accommodate people requesting school transfers, servers need exactly this window of internal work from the early hours of the morning, in order to make adjustments. Then, between 10 am and 4 pm, the entire Enrollment Center team is redirected to pay attention to the public.
No need to arrive early or queue: you can solve it online
At the same time, in the same period from January 2nd to 13th, enrollment will be held for access to vacancies for the 2nd to 9th grade of Elementary School and for the 2nd and 3rd grade of High School. The dates are also valid for the second deadline for registrations aimed at the 1st year of Elementary and High School. The entire process can be carried out online, through the platform www.educacao.rs.gov.br. It can also be done at any public school. Still, those who prefer can seek assistance at the Enrollment Center.
