According to The Global Payments Report 2022, the forecast for 2025 is that global e-commerce will surpass the US$ 8.3 trillion mark. This data highlights the growing adherence to the online shopping model which, according to the report ‘Tendências do Varejo 2023’, is the preferred mode of purchase for 44% of Brazilian consumers. Still according to this latest study, from July 2021 to July 2022, 73% of Brazilians purchased products through websites and virtual stores, while 63% made purchases within apps. According to the survey, for 62% of consumers, the reason for purchasing online was the convenience of purchasing items and receiving them at home.
For Eduardo Cordova, CEO do market4u, a network of autonomous minimarkets that operates through the honest market concept within residential and commercial condominiums, convenience is currently a key element for success in retail. “The consumer profile has changed a lot in recent years, so that today the customer is looking for a quality experience when shopping. Thus, providing practicality and comfort has become a competitive differential for companies in the retail segment”, he explains.
The network, which has been operating in a franchise format since 2020, operates with a focus on the customer and, to ensure as much ease as possible, offers the functionality “Delivery4u”, a home delivery e-marketplace that brings together partner establishments that have the most varied products. “The purpose of the resource is simple: what is difficult to find on a mini-market shelf, we look for another way to deliver it to the consumer”, explains Córdova.
Despite the market4u app enabling orders for goods ranging from perishable butchery to construction materials, the report ‘2nd Quarter 2022 (2Q2022) – The stabilization of Brazilian e-commerce’, showed that in Brazil, from April to May this year , the products that were most ordered in e-commerce were fashion items/accessories, food/beverages, health, beauty/perfumery, telephony and housewares. For the coming years, The Global Payments Report 2022 reveals that by 2025 the e-commerce market in Brazil should expand 95% and reach revenues of US$ 79 billion.
“Given the good perspectives of the shopping market in the electronic environment, we invest more and more in expansion, today we operate with more than 2,000 stores, and in the improvement of our technology, which is proprietary and has potential for innovation in the integration of tools that allow more practicality, convenience and safety for our customers”, concludes Córdova.
