The mayor of Sapucaia do Sul, Volmir Rodrigues, was unanimously elected, in an Assembly this Tuesday (20/12), president of the Pró-Sinos Consortium for the biennium 2023/2024. He will take over from the mayor of Esteio, Leonardo Pascoal, who has been in charge of the consortium since July 2018.
“It is a joy to have been acclaimed by fellow mayors. With this composition of the new board, I am sure that we will continue the good work that has been done and we will dedicate ourselves to implementing everything that can further qualify the service to all communities. We have many challenges and we are going to seek resolution for the municipalities”, evaluated the new president.
The current president, mayor of Esteio, who is close to ending his second term, said that the feeling of completing about four and a half years at the helm of the consortium is one of accomplishment. “The work was intense, it was hard and we are certain that the year ahead will be very positive. We left Pró-Sinos with the capacity to grow and deliver positive results to the communities served”, he highlighted.
When evaluating the period in the presidency, Pascoal mentioned important advances from the administrative point of view, restructuring and reorganization of the house, in addition to deliveries, services, activities, debates and the recovery of the image and credibility to consolidate the consortium as an instrument that guides environmental issues and debate with great quality and propriety any matter related to basic sanitation and other themes of an environmental nature.
“I believe that the greatest achievement we have is precisely having placed the consortium as an interlocutor of the municipalities on the issue of basic sanitation in any space, whether with debates with the State Government or other spheres, or dialoguing with the communities and with the vehicles of Communication. Governing basic sanitation in itself is already something very relevant, especially in this moment that we are living, with the new legal framework, which establishes a huge set of challenges for municipalities to be able to reach the universalization of the service by the year 2033” , added Pascoal.
The inauguration of the new president should take place in January, on a date to be defined. Also part of the new board are the mayors of Esteio, Leonardo Pascoal, the mayor of Igrejinha, Leandro Horlle, and the mayor of São Francisco de Paula, Marcus Aguzzolli. The mayors Jerri Meneghetti, from Dois Irmãos, Carina Nath, from Sapiranga, and Alceu Marcos Pretto, from Riozinho, are part of the fiscal council.
