Frias referred to the charge as “criminal crap for the vaccination passport” and threatened to sue those responsible for “preventing my family from having a roof over their heads at 9 pm at night.” “You will not take my freedom and that of my family without me fighting for it. Vagabonds,” he wrote.
On the vent, Frias also stated that “the most revolting thing is that, while they treat the people like slaves, they are out partying and drinking, like the hypocritical scoundrels that they are.” Hours later, the secretary posted a video of the mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, enjoying a samba circle, without wearing a mask.

The secretary is against the vaccination passport and, in November of this year, published an ordinance prohibiting the charging of the document at events and attractions financed with resources from the Rouanet Law. The penalty for non-compliance is disapproval of the cultural project and a fine.
Frias also did not get vaccinated against Covid and even justified, in interviews with journalists, that the reason is the lack of confidence that the immunization will be effective. “In my opinion it is too early to guarantee that this vaccine has any effect,” said Frias.
