The Secretary of State of São Paulo confirmed, this Saturday (12.dec), the fourth case of the Ômicron variant in the capital of São Paulo. The 67-year-old man, who has a complete vaccination schedule and booster with Pfizer, has only mild symptoms, such as chills, and is in isolation at home.
The municipal surveillance of São Paulo is looking for people who had contact with the patient, diagnosed with covid-19 on December 7th. The sample from the male PCR test was submitted to genetic sequencing, with Ômicron as a result.
The case is the fourth confirmed in São Paulo, but the first that is not imported, as the patient has not been abroad. Among the cases, all had a complete vaccination schedule and none had severe symptoms, which reinforces the importance of vaccination.
