The federal government decided this Friday (10) to suspend the requirement of proof of vaccine against Covid for travelers arriving in Brazil by air.
According to the blog, the suspension will be temporary, until the normalization of ConnectSUS, the application responsible for issuing the Covid-19 National Vaccination Certificate.
ConnectSUS went down early this Friday after a hacker attack. This week, the government published an ordinance that imposes quarantine on those who are not vaccinated and wish to enter Brazil by air. The ordinance would take effect this Saturday (11).
The hacker attack that brought down the system affects precisely the conference of proof of vaccination of Brazilians and those vaccinated in Brazil.
The blog had already informed that the government had been warned that, if ConnectSUS did not go back to work this Friday, it would have to edit a new ordinance with rules for the entry of travelers.
Delaying the requirement’s entry into force is seen as a victory for vaccine “deniers” such as supporters of President Jair Bolsonaro.
According to sources, problems with access to the system would not prevent foreigners from presenting proof of vaccination.
