This Sunday (5), the Solidarity Cart from the Adventist Development and Assistance Resources Agency (ADRA) arrived in the region affected by the rains in Rio Grande do Sul. The mobile unit has the capacity to prepare 1,500 meals per day, wash and dry 105 kilos of clothing per shift and offer psychosocial care to the community. The trailer will remain at Oktoberfest Park, in Igrejinha, for the next 15 days, with the possibility of being moved to wherever there is greater need.
Opening hours
Opening hours are from 9am to 6pm for washing clothes. Now for meal distribution, at 12pm and 6pm. The location will also serve as a collection point for donations of food, clothing, water and cleaning and personal hygiene items. The agency highlights that this action is possible thanks to the commitment of people who make donations.
In responding to climate challenges in Rio Grande do Sul, Fábio Salles, director of ADRA Brasil, expressed the organization’s position: “We are committed to alleviating the suffering of affected communities, mobilizing all available resources to respond effectively to this crisis.” Salles emphasized the importance of continued support and national and international solidarity to overcome the devastating effects of the storms. “Our response to emergencies reflects our unwavering commitment to human dignity and the well-being of vulnerable populations,” he added.
