The Centro Histórico-Cultural Santa Casa (CHC Santa Casa), in Porto Alegre, presents the revival of the children’s play “A Cidade do Lugar Não”, which received the Tibicuera Prize in 1983. With free tickets, the premiere of the show takes place at the end on the week of April 27th and 28th, at 4pm.
Updated for our times, under the scenic direction of Daniel Colin, the show connects today’s children with the playful and fun universe of songs created over 40 years ago.
“Children forty years ago didn’t have the internet, no cell phones, no games. Today, when the precocity of children’s maturity is tremendous, rescuing playfulness is a difficult task, yet gratifying and rewarding”, analyzes Castro.
The lyrics place children in an imaginary city, full of unusual characters such as Menina Ecabelada, Macaco Caco, Sapo Boi, a dog so small it fits in a glass jar, the cat that lives under an old suspension bridge, among others. . For Colin, responsible for preparing the actors, “the song lyrics are loving, the costumes and sets are delicate and the scenic-musical universe is colorful and enchanting”.
