The Orquestra Theatro São Pedro presents on April 25th, Thursday, at 8pm, a concert with the soundtracks of films by Quentin Tarantino, one of the most renowned filmmakers today. Conducted and artistically directed by maestro Evandro Matté, the concert will feature singers Andréa Cavalheiro and Rafael Gubert and will feature songs and notable instrumental pieces from works by the American director and screenwriter.
On the stage of Theatro São Pedro, the orchestra will rescue themes ranging from Tarantino’s debut feature film, Reservoir Dogs (1992), to his most recent release, the dramatic comedy Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood (2019), starring by Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie. The repertoire also highlights songs such as Bang Bang, by Nancy Sinatra, and other tracks from the two volumes of Kill Bill (2003 and 2004), which had their soundtracks organized and produced by the renowned rapper RZA, from Wu-Tang Clan, and Robert Rodriguez .
Also included in the program are songs from iconic scenes from Pulp Fiction: A Time of Violence (1994), such as You Never Can Tell, by Chuck Berry, which covered the well-known dance between Uma Thurman and John Travolta in the film; in addition to tracks with the western atmosphere of Django Unchained (2012), and the diversity of the musical selection of Inglourious Basterds (2009), which ranges from Cat People (Putting Out Fire), by star David Bowie, to Rabbia and Tarantella, by maestro and Italian composer Ennio Morricone. The selection is completed by two other compositions by Morricone: Paranoia Prima, which was chosen by Tarantino for Death Proof (2007); and L’ Ultima Diligenza di Red Rock, which is part of the Oscar-winning original soundtrack for The Hateful Eight (2015).
The presentation will also be illustrated by scenes from Tarantino’s films, projected on a screen on the stage. Tickets for the concert cost between R$10 and R$40 and can be purchased on the website www.theatrosaopedro.rs.gov.br.
