Hamburgerberg Fest will take place in the first semester and with one more day. The 24th Hamburgerberg Fest will be from May 17th to 19th, in the Historic Center of Hamburgo Velho, in Novo Hamburgo. In addition to having an extra day, the program will also celebrate 200 years of German Immigration, celebrated in 2024.
The event takes place in the Historic Center of Hamburgo Velho, the most important historical site of German origin in Brazil, listed in 2015 by the National Historical and Artistic Heritage Institute (Iphan). The place brings together dozens of historic houses, museums and even a plot of land remaining from the areas of the first settlers who inhabited the region, today transformed into Parcão – Parque Municipal Henrique Luiz Roessler.
In addition to aspects of German culture and memory, Hamburgerberg Fest highlights the plurality of current events. There will be three days of music, dance, art exhibitions, open museums, craft fairs, antiques and collectibles, street cinema, photography competition and, also, gastronomic delights and craft beers. The program involves different musical genres, alongside exhibitions of the most different inspirations and styles. The audience is made up of a broad profile, of all ages, in an atmosphere of meeting and celebration.
The 23rd edition, in October 2022, had a record attendance, when 45 thousand people passed through the streets of Hamburgo Velho. At the Scheffel Museum and the Casa Schmitt-Presser Community Museum alone, eight thousand visitors were registered over the two days of the event. “We are very proud, as an institution, to be one of the organizers of this party that promotes culture and values the important heritage we have here”, says Angelo Reinheimer, curator of the Scheffel Foundation and general coordinator of the event.
The 24th Hamburgerberg Fest is organized by the Scheffel Foundation and Imago Produtora in conjunction with the Novo Hamburgo Municipal Department of Culture. The schedule will be announced soon.
