Water aerobics classes for seniors are back in Dois Irmãos. The announcement was made by the Municipal Sports Department in partnership with the Nativa and Vidativa Academies. The Water Aerobics Project for the Elderly is aimed at 300 elderly people, with priority given to the oldest, followed by a waiting list for other interested parties.
Registrations
To register, interested parties aged 60 or over must show up with an identity document and proof of residence at the following locations and dates:
– *25/03:* Clube UniãoAv. Porto Alegre 2055, from 1:30 pm to 4 pm.
– *28/03:* ARC Santa Cecília GymTravessa Padre Agostinho Lipinski, 23, from 8:30 am to 11 am.
– *01/04:* Clube UniãoAv. Porto Alegre 2055, from 1:30 pm to 4 pm.
Another person is allowed to register on behalf of the interested party, as long as all necessary documents are presented. The list of those selected will be published on social media and on the City Hall website on April 11th, with activities scheduled to begin on April 15th.
In addition, there will be the possibility of registration for people with an updated medical recommendation from 2024 and who do not fall into the elderly age group. Those interested should contact the Health Department, located at Rua 25 de Setembro, 92.
The physical education teacher at the Sports Department, Astério Mombach, highlights the importance of water activities for the elderly, considering them as a means of preventing various diseases. “The increase in the number of vacancies, also including people with a medical prescription and APAE students, aims to meet the pent-up demand from previous years, totaling 300 elderly people, 30 people with a medical recommendation and 10 APAE students”, said Astério.
