Caxias do Sul begins the National Flu Vaccination Campaign this Monday, March 25th. At this first moment – until March 31st – only people who are part of the priority group will be vaccinated (see below). The vaccine will be available in all basic health units (UBS’s) from Monday to Friday. Due to the high number of cases, the influenza vaccination strategy was brought forward to March.
The change in this year’s vaccination campaign is that, like other vaccines, the vaccine against the influenza virus becomes a nominal vaccine, that is, data from the person being vaccinated is collected for the health system. So the vaccination process will be a little different, because the person getting the vaccine needs to bring a photo ID and CPF. The Secretary of Health, Daniele Meneguzzi, explains that the measure is a determination of the Ministry of Health and the municipality is responsible for complying.
D day
Two major vaccination actions are already planned in Caxias. They will be on Saturdays on April 6th and 13th. The latter is also National Influenza Vaccination Day D, with actions across the country.
