This Thursday (21), Brazil reached the mark of 2 million cases of dengue in 2024, according to information from the Arbovirus Monitoring Panel of the Ministry of Health. There are 2,010,896 probable cases of dengue registered until the moment, including confirmed cases and those under investigation for diagnosis.
To date, 682 deaths from dengue have been recorded in the country, while another 1,042 cases are still under investigation. The incidence rate of dengue in Brazil is 990.3 probable cases for every 100 thousand inhabitants, as indicated by the Arbovirus Monitoring Panel.
The Federal District is the federation unit with the highest incidence rate, recording more than 161 thousand cases this year alone, with an incidence of 5,725.8 infections for every 100 thousand inhabitants.
According to the Ministry of Health, the total number of dengue cases this year represents an abnormal volume compared to recent decades.
