Santa Casa de Porto Alegre is recruiting patients for research in the area of infectious diseases focusing on the treatment of chronic Hepatitis C. The study is an opportunity to access new technologies for the treatment of hepatitis C virus (HCV) using antiviral therapy for a shorter period of time. The institution is looking for participants who have never received any type of previous treatment.
The research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of an experimental medicine in people with chronic HCV infection. To participate as a volunteer in the clinical study you must be between 18 and 85 years of age; having been diagnosed with chronic HCV infection; and not having taken any direct action medication against the virus (such as sofosbuvir, ledipasvir or velpatasvir).
The study consists of including the patient in the protocol, monitoring and monitoring to evaluate the outcome of the treatment. In this process, the patient has a complete team, with doctors, nurses, biomedical scientists and pharmacists, all with experience in activating assistance protocols to provide safety in the treatment of volunteers.
