L’Occitane au Brésil launches the Mareô body care line. Inspired by the oceans, the new product contains seaweed extract and vegetable hemi-squalane, active ingredients used in facial skincare products. The line has a high biodegradability index and provides intense hydration, restoring the skin’s youthful appearance.
Mareô arrives with four products for body and face that focus on the natural and healthy maturation of the skin: liquid body soap, body exfoliant, body cream and serum for face, chest and neck. All with a marine citrus fragrance in an olfactory pyramid composed of lemongrass, lemon and rosemary in the top olfactory notes.

Preservation of the Brazilian coast
In addition to the commitment to plastic packaging, the seaweed used in the Mareô line is harvested sustainably by a female community in Itapipoca, Ceará. They are harvested when the tide is low and after collection they are dried, also in the community. This work is mostly done by seaweed fishermen. Then, the plants are sent to Assessa, the brand’s supplier, which transforms them into the extract present in the product formulas. Assessa and the L’Occitane Sustainable Supply team closely monitor the work of the algueiras, which serves as additional income for these women.
