On the night of this Saturday, March 2nd, starting at 7:30 pm, the 15th National Harvest Festival – Fenavindima, will present its second Scenic Parade in Flores da Cunha. This event’s main objective is to create new interpretations of characters and allegories, using a dynamic game of lights and shadows, reflections and contours, as well as varied sounds and nuances.
Avenida 25 de Julho, located in the center of Flores da Cunha, will be transformed into a vibrant stage for approximately 530 participants. They will follow a path full of symbolism and memories, reminiscent of the first editions of the festival. Special lighting will be highlighted in this edition, following the recent restoration and requalification of the Bell Tower.
Inspired by the theme of the 15th Fenavindima, “The Centenary of the Harvest”, the scenic spectacle is divided into three large blocks and integrated by 18 allegories. Firstly, the story of the arrival of Italian immigrants and the preservation of their legacy through religiosity will be narrated, a true journey back to the past.
Then, the allegories will demonstrate the achievements of Flores de Cunha, achieved since its emancipation until its centenary. To conclude, the corsican will portray the celebration of achievements in the best way: always at the table, with lots of food, music, dancing, meetings and fun. The last float will be attended by the queen, Paula Bebber, and the princesses, Bruna Marini and Caroline Foss Lovison, welcoming and thanking the community and visitors for being part of this unique moment.
The parades in this edition innovate by interacting with the public through characters who are part of the local culture and participate in the entire parade, they are: the Magician, Friar Salvador, the Nona Joana, Sanguanel and Nanetto Pipetta. The news continues with the distribution of typical local gastronomy dishes, such as corn, polenta, menarosto, graspa, wines and juices. Furthermore, dance is present in a large part of the show, seeking to harmonize the choreography with the history of the city.
The last Scenic Parade of the 15th Fenavindima will take place on the morning of Sunday, March 10th, at 10am. The event is free and open to the community. In case of rain, new dates will be announced.
The 15th Fenavindima takes place from February 22nd to March 10th, 2024. The event offers free entry on Fridays.
